Tom, a young man who serves on the Boma Youth Committee of the Protestant Church on his island, arrived at the Boma translation office to ask for published booklets of Scripture.* He explained to the translators that the booklets were needed for an upcoming Bible reading and retelling competition among Boma youth.
The translators were delighted to learn that the competition would involve youth groups from 61 congregations throughout the island! This activity will help carry the Word of God into the hearts of the next generation among this Southeast Asian people.
“We were happy to help him and were encouraged that the church is initiating such activities on their own,” said Steph, project coordinator. “The Scriptures in the Boma language are getting into more and more peoples’ hands!”
